• 2025 Community and Citywide Education Council Elections

  Your Voice Matters!

  Participating in these elections as a candidate or voter is your opportunity to help shape the future of your school community, so be sure to get involved and make your voice heard.

  As of January 13, 2025, parents can apply to run for a seat on any of the 32 Community Education Councils or 4 Citywide Education Councils for which they are eligible. Candidates will campaign from late February through April, and voting will take place from late April through May 13.

  Stay engaged and ensure you’re signed up for a New York City School Account (NYCSA), which is required to run for a seat and vote. For assistance, refer to our NYCSA Account Set Up Guide for Parents.(Open external link)

  • Set up your MySchools account: With MySchools, you can explore your child's school options, apply, and get offer information—all in one place.
  • Missed the kindergarten application deadline? Add your child to programs' waitlists.
  • Deadline extended: Apply to middle school by March 1, 2022
  • Deadline extended: Apply to high school by March 11, 2022.
  • Deadline extended: Register by March 11, 2022 to audition for LaGuardia High School programs.

  Happening next:

  • The pre-K application open the deadline to apply is March 18, 2022
  • The 3-K application the deadline to apply is April 14, 2022.
